
SNIPR Hotlists
Hotlisting
Vehicles can be added to hotlists to create alerts. A local hotlist will alert only your organisation, whereas a global hotlist will alert any organisation who’s SNIPR camera reads the vehicle.
To add a vehicle to a hotlist, click Add a vehicle to a List under the Hotlists section of the menu.
Before creating a hotlist entry, be sure that you have read and understood the Terms & Conditions. You can view the Terms & Conditions by clicking here. Tick the box to agree to the Terms & Conditions and continue.
Fill in the registration number of the vehicle you would like to hotlist and click Check License. If there is an existing listing of the vehicle, it will be displayed here. Regardless of whether a listing already exists or not, you can click proceed to create a listing.
Incident Report
The first panel is for listing details of the incident that the vehicle was involved in.
Select whether the entry should go onto your local list or the global list.
If you have sub-lists, select which one.
Select a hotlist type.
Set the alert priority (this will determine the number and colour of the alert)
Fill in the suggested response.
Fill in case details linked to the vehicle, if there are multiple cases, click the + to add more fields.
Crime Details
Select the
Type
Location
Date and time
Number of suspects
And if the suspects were armed.
If there is footage of the crime, tick this box and fill in details for a contact with access to the footage.
Any further details about the crime can added into the last block.
Contact Information
Your information as the hotlister will automatically be filled in for you.
Fill in the details of the person who reported this to you if available.
Fill in the victim details if available.
Wanted Vehicle Details
The Vehicle license will be automatically filled in from the initial search you did earlier, Fill in the:
Make
Model
Colour
VIN Number
And any distinguishing features of the vehicle.
Add any relevant images of the vehicle along with applicable descriptions.
If the vehicle is using a cloned plate tick the Cloned Plate box so that you can fill in the Legitimate Vehicle Details as well. This is very important to help distinguish between the actual vehicle and the clone.
Global Listing Requirements
For a global listing to be approved, it MUST contain:
SAPS CAS/OB/IR Numbers and the station where the case was opened. Required within 24hrs of the listing.
Details of incident. Location, time, events and any particulars of suspects and weapons involved.
Complainant or Victim details are crucial for fast, efficient Alert verification.
Vehicle description including Make, Model and Colour.
Other information and Identifying features. Dents, Stickers, Towbar, Bullbar, Hub caps, etc. These are important to help identify the vehicle in cases of false or cloned plates.
Save
Once you have filled in all of the fields that you can, look over the form once more to ensure that all possible information is filled in correctly.
Press the Save button to submit the hotlist entry. All listings will become active immediately, Global listings will also be submitted to the SNIPR Validation centre for approval. You will be contacted regarding any missing or unclear information on the listing so that it can be made active.
Menu
On the left-hand side of the screen, you will see the menu. The menu can be expanded or collapsed by clicking the icon next to the SNIPR logo. The menu is still fully functional when collapsed. Your menu may not contain all of these items, depending on your account permissions.

Insights - A consolidation all the types of feedback that are left on your SNIPR Alerts.
Map of Devices – Showing a map of the physical locations of your cameras, and whether they are active.
Positive Alerts – Including your positive alert history.
Positive Repeat Alerts - Here you can see which listings alert the most.
App Management – For managing SNIPR Patrol apps linked to your cameras.
App Approval – To approve or reject Patrol app registrations.
Manage Area Details – To see your area IDs and managers.
Registered Users – To see existing users and their permissions.
Logout – To leave SNIPR Online so that another user can log in.
